IRL, my name is Drew and I am from Santa Barbara, CA with a healthy(?) addiction to PC games and a penchant for building computers. By day, I am a IT Technical Consultant and by night I am an enthusiast PC gamer.
Growing up as a PC gamer and PC enthusiast, I found passion in helping like-minded individuals on various internet forums under the 1337speak tag '3lfk1ng' using an avatar from the anime, "Elfen Lied". Be it games, cars, or computers, I have invested countless hours sharing what I have learned to various communities and to this day, it still makes me feel really good.
Rewinding the clock back to 2011, I formed an internet community called 'Illegitimus' (derivative of the latin word for Bastards), consisting entirely of friends and family members who enjoy gaming together. It wasn't until recently that I decided that it was time that I continue to share my passion, with you.
Reihen (pronounced: rei•hen; like Ryan but with a tongue roll of the 'R') is my gamer tag.
In German, the word Reihen stands for "row" or "line". I chose the German word Reihen because my car (2004 VW GTI 2.8L 24v VR6) has what is known as a Reihenmotor, or Inline engine ( commonly referred to as a straight engine). It's a particularly fascinating motor that uses just one cylinder head (unlike a traditional V6 motor) by using two 'rows' of 3 cylinders, staggered at a 15° angle. Not only is the motor compact but it sounds pretty amazing. The VR6 is commonly chosen as one of the most impressive sounding engines ever produced. I use/abuse the car for automotive racing as a hobby and adrenaline rush.
